Hello from the fifth grade class at Munhall School in St. Charles, IL.St. Charles is located about 40 miles west of Chicago. There are 24 kids in our class-- eleven boys and thirteen girls. One of our students is from Mexico. Our week is packed with activities. Besides the regular curriculum, we have art, music, physical education, DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), library, and 16 of us are in band or orchestra. Some of our after school interests are: soccer, football, swimming, gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, biking, and tennis. Our high school has won state championships in both swimming and soccer. One of our favorite activities is National Football League football picks. We do them for math. Every week each student picks the teams that he/she thinks will win. Then, we figure the percentage that we picked correctly. We also compute the class average, median and mode. We also keep track of the points scored by individual teams.
