Dear friends, participants in the "Through Our Eyes" project. We are students of Humanitarian Linguistic School 23, Vladimir, Russia. Our town is located not far from the capital of Russia, we often go to Moscow shopping and sightseeing. Our town has a long and interesting history, it is older than Moscow. It used to be the religious capital of Russia some centuries ago. That is why there are so many churches and cathedrals in it. Our school specialises in foreign languages, in our class we study English, French or German and Latin. Our small group studies German, but English is our favourite subject. Last year we took part in some projects, at first our teacher made us write letters, then we decided that we really enjoy it, it is more fun than the usual lessons.
We are bright and cheerful. Yulia can play the piano and sings very well, she is a star of our school concerts. Sofia is clever, beautiful and shy, she can dance very well, she stars on our school stage too. Masha is nice and easy-going. Dima is goos at maths and computers, he types and sends all our letters. Slava goes in for weightlifting and successfully takes part in every sports competition. David is good at languages, he is friendly and ready to help, he likes computers. Our favourite pastime is disco dancing. In summer and in autumn we go camping out, our town is surrounded with beautiful forests. Tomorrow we are LUCKY! we don't have lessons because we'll celebrate the birthday of our school. There will be a concert and a disco dance in the evening! Our teacher of English will introduce herself herself.
Hello,everybody,
My name is Galina Mishina, I am a teacher at Humanitarien Linguistic School 23. Very many years ago I studied at this school, graduated from it and after finishing higher education came back to this school to teach. I have been teaching English for... I don't care to remember how many years. Still I appreciate a challenge and your project seems quite an exciting one. My students very skillfully pretend that they are really interested in it. We have already chosen a place to describe, soon we are going on an excursion there, just hoping that the weather will still be fine and sunny. We are enjoying Russian "Indian summer" in September.
