Teacher: Isa Belocchi

Dear Toe friends,

We will describe you "Zanti Square" and  its beautiful fountain, the main square of our little town called Cavriago. Cavriago has got 8.500 inhabitants and its in a rural area near the hills , 8 km far from Reggio Emilia in the north of  Italy. It's famous for the Parmesan Cheese and its cooking (the world famous cappelletti and lasagne). In our  towns, squares are very important  places where people can meet, buy things  during the  weekly markets, talk to friends, sit outside in the   open air eating an ice-cream or having a drink. In this square you can find: the Town Hall, The Church and the Library which is  a place where the students usually go. We'll tell you why "Zanti Square" is our favourite and, by the way, on Saturday we'll  go there and take some photos of it we'd like to show you soon!

See you!

We want to tell you what was our experience like on Saturday during our excursion to "ZANTI" square.
When we walked from the square to the churchyard , we could touch one column made of old bricks , it is very tall.(nearly 12 m talll).
The pine trees are very old, too , we also touched them through their cortex.
The benches mode of concrete, are of the twentieth century.

During our visit to the square we could smell  the perfumes of the pastries and ice-creams from the two bars.
Our favourite flavours are cream, lemon, nut and coconut.
In the meanwhile we perceived  the smell of the humidity from the many pine trees and grass under them.
The only problem is the pollution from the cars.
