Hello Everyone!
Sorry I am a little behind. My class and I have been very busy. We decided to
describe a park outside of our town, Oregon, Illinois. The day we went on our field
trip was gorgeous. We have been experiencing unusually warm weather for this time of
year in our area of the world. It has been wonderful. Here is a sample of some of our
descriptions from our afternoon at White
Pines State Park:
Smells and Tastes- fresh air, pine trees, people grilling, dead fish, freshly cut
grass
Sounds- rushing water, leaves ruffling in the soft fall air, birds singing, soft hum
of cars passing by, rough crunch of leaves under our feet, snap of twigs falling from the
trees
Sights- leaves changing color, yellows, oranges, browns, whites, greens, calm water,
crystal clear water, bikers, fish, fords, green grass, falling leaves
Physical Sensations/Touch- leaves feel like cloth, bark of trees is like gravel,
grass feels like someone's hair, grills feel like sandpaper, crunchy bushes, prickly
bushes and plants
