LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
IES Parc De L'Escorxador, Barcelona, Spain
Teacher: Carmen Fonseca
Hello people:
We are pupils of the I.E.S. Parc de l'Escorxador, from Barcelona. Our school is very small: there are 720 pupils and 58 teachers. In our school
there are an art room, a music room, a computer's room, a lab, a technology workshop, a playground, a very small gym and a theatre. There, our theatre group makes functions. There is also a lift, only for teachers and handicapped pupils.
In our class there are 32 pupils.
In our school there are a lot of different kinds of people: hippies, skaters, skinheads, snobs, punks, etc.
Our subjects are Maths, Spanish, Catalan (our regional language), Science, History, Physical Education, English, Tutorial, "Crèdit Variable 1" and
"Crèdit Variable 2" (two optional subjects).
The people in our school (and in Barcelona, too) are interested very much in football (soccer), especially in the team "Futbol Club Barcelona
(Barça)". Also we like basketball, volleyball, rhythmic, karate, cycling, etc.
We like animals. Our favourite animals are dogs, cats and birds. A lot of people have animals in their houses.
We don't have a lot of free time, but the little we have we spend it listening to music, watching T.V., reading, playing computer games and going
out.
Barcelona is a very big and beautiful city. There are a lot of cinemas, shops, parks and places where you can have lots of fun. Near Barcelona, in
Salou, there is a very big thematic attractions park called "Port Aventura". Almost everybody has been there once or twice.
Barcelona was the capital of the Olympic Games in 1992. This Olympic Games were the best!!! This event was very important for the city. Since this year there are more tourism in our city.
We are very pleased to participate in this project. Goodbye. See you soon.
