Stuhr Museum is a place that makes you feel like you live in the past. It has artifacts from the past including things from our ancestors. Stuhr Museum also has many buildings and different things including a real train and a hand caart from the past. The museum lets you see what they built and what they used back then. they let you do chores to feel what it is like to do them in the past. It also shows what people did for a living in the past.
Stuhr Museum's main builking is so large and pretty. It has a little moat around
it. The main buildin shows very many interesting thisng to see. They have guns
from the Civil War. They also have a wagon and clay pots form the Indians.
Some other things it has on display are clothes from long ago, shoes, beads, and many
other things. It also displays how the pioneers and Indians made and decorated their
homes. Railroad Town is so big and real-looking you feel like you were in the
past. It has many buildings including the balcksmith, tinsmith, the mill, hotel,
bank, post office, shoe shop, and many other things. There
>are many fascinaating stories to go wiht each building. The buildings look very
real. In railroad town there is one very important building, thet is the depot.
That is where people get on and off the train. The farm is also important
because it makes the dairy products for the railroad town.
The summer classes are very fun because you get to act like a real pioneer and a real
Indian. There are many different classes to go to. There are quilting,
blacksmith, tinsmith, preschool, and many other classes. Like in quiltiln, you make
a quilt and other sewing item classes. During the school year many classes take
field trips to Stuhr Museum. Each year you visit a different part of the museum.
Stuhr has volunteer people who show the class around where they are visiting.
Usually you make something each year. It is a very educational program. The
blacksmith shop is a very hot place to be because there is a
>fire in it. The blacksmith shop is where screws and hammers and horseshoes and
other metal things are made. They usually have a volunteer person working at the
blacksmith shop. They show the visitors how to make screws, hammers, horseshoes,
wagon wheels, and other metal things they know how to make.
The teepees are very fascinating. They look very real. Stuhr Museum lets their visitors make a teepee and leave it up until someone else does the project. There is more than one teepee. One of themis decorated how the Indians would have probably decorated them. They are decorated very nicely.
Stuhr Museum is filled with many sights. Stuhr Museum's main building, railroad
town, summer classes, blacksmith, and the teepees are fun and interesting.
