The Whale project will be a new topic about whales. The participating kids will be able to do lots of fun things, such as, make videos, do posters, write-ups, essays, and plays on Whales. This will provide an oppurtunity to study one of the biggest creatures on Earth. The moderator, Arnav Manchanda, will cater to every (well, not every) need. We hope this project will be fun and educational.

Time Line:

Students from Delmar Elementary School in Maryland have agreed to help Arnav with his project as the power in his area is only available for a few hours each day - email him and ask him why!

Here are some questions from our "Ashley's" at Delmar (we must have 7 at least!):

The Story of the Whales
**************************
Great Whales:

The Great Whales are a part of almost every animal lover. If you study whales you will know that they are endangered species, which are animals that have very few of that kind. There are people who kill whales for the fun of it and they kill the whales for food and money. If you love whales as much as I do you should hear what they are doing to them. Some of the products we use are made out of the whales blubber. Like some lip gloss and lip stick are made from parts of animals.

Some people think that the whales are cruel, but the whales are really gentle and kind. If you want to stop this very sad manner please write to Arnav in Sri Lanka or the kids at Delmar in Delmar Maryland by writing right here on KIDPROJ.

Whales

A whale is a huge sea animal that looks much like a fish. But whales are not fish. They belong in the group called mammals. Other mammals include: Chimpanzees, dogs, and human beings. Like these mammals, whales have a highly developed brain. So they are very intelligent. Whales have some basic shape but they differ in many ways.
