Difference Of Western foods and Chinese food.

 

Since I'm originally from the US my idea of good food was hamburgers, French-fries, chicken, and steak. But now that I visited the province of Guang Dong in southern China, I realized that those are not the only the foods in the world. And when I think of buying the food I think of going to the super market and buying it. But here in the province of Guang Dong and all over China they have things called wet markets. Wet markets are markets where people buy food. Right now you're probably thinking oh, that doesn't sound so bad, well trust me it is. The wet markets are not the only place to buy food; they also have things like a farmers market where all the crops that are grown are for sale. Most the people in the city eat meat, like cows, dogs, cats, owls, chickens, fish, rabbits, donkeys, and a lot of other "different" stuff.

 

In the US or other western countries, they almost always eat meat from cows, and they have other animals as pets. In China they eat some of these animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, and of course even fish.

 

In the rural areas of China they don't waste a thing. They can't afford to. When they eat meat there is no left over, you don't see any bones. (Maybe they use them in soup.) The only thing that they don't eat is the fur. In western countries they don 't even think of eating that kind of stuff or they did not think that it is eatable. They would not even touch that stuff. They only eat the good part of the meat and waste the rest. In away it is good but disgusting to eat the meat, because we don't waste the animal.

 

There is a lot of difference in the food from the west and from China and I was very glad to experience it. The food might not have been what I'm used to. But it was very good to try other foods.
