Itinerary for the Day

Location: Tai Shan --à San He --à Bai Sha

Guangdong Province, China

7:30 AM - Breakfast at the Peninsula Hotel. We had congee, noodles, chocolate cake, and vegetables.
9:20 - 9:45 AM – Visit to cookie factory. The factory makes over a dozen different kinds, flavors, and brands of cookies. It was really noisy because there was a machine that stamped on the brand names of cookies. I thought the cookies were very dry.
10:10 AM – Started biking. Today there was no rain and it was very hot. Along the way we saw some "tower houses" like the one shown here. They were used for protection. The one shown here was built in the 1930’s.
1:35 PM – We stopped for lunch. It was better today. It consisted of an egg, banana, orange, and a sandwich.
2:15 PM – Passed by Mr. Fisher and Mr. King’s group. We haven’t seen them since the ferry terminal Sunday morning.
4:05 PM – End of biking, boarded bus. After a tough day of at least 35 kilometers, with a very strong headwind, we were all very tired.
5:15 PM – We ate dinner at the Tai Shan Lake Isle Hotel. I think it was the best one yet. We had dumplings, rice, pork, and noodles.
7:45 PM – Visit to Wu Xi Middle School. They made us feel at home. We played many games like guess the riddle, and jump over the chair and under the rope.
9:30 PM – Left the school.
10:00 PM – Lights out. The day was over – thankfully.
10:30 PM – Just because the lights are out doesn’t mean we have to sleep.
