NEWS FROM THE RAIN FOREST:

"Camping in the jungle was cool. The river water as cold and we went down rapids without a flotation device." (Brock)

"We went on a really really long hike, over 17 peaks which took 6 hours of grueling hiking." (Andrew)

"We climbed and climbed, banging onto roots, swinging from vines, tripping, slipping. We survived!! " (Dr. D.)

"We did a lot of hard hiking, and I went down the river rapids without a tube." (Robert)

"Hi Mom and Dad, Yesterday we hiked 6 miles, up and down, up and down. It was very tiring. On the hike I got a leach!! It bit me right on the ankle. I didn't feel a thing!! Since I was the first one I got a Magnum, an ice cream
bar. We finally got to our campsite at 4:11 PM, boy was I tired. We swam, sang songs and then went to bed. Today is my birthday!! I'm 13 years old now. We tubed down the river and back to the hotel, then we went shopping." (Tyler)

"Hi, DJD and Shamar. I'm great! After the huge 4 1/2 hour hike we took yesterday we started down the steepest mountain I have ever seen! When we reached the bottom I rushed to take off my hiking boots to discover that
my sock was covered in blood from 2 different leach bites! Yuck! But it didn't hurt!" (Daisy)

"Hey, we took this very long hike. It was hard but it was fun. We went swimming and down rapids. Then went to a bat cave." (Colin)

"6 hours of hiking was way too much!! I can't wait until white water rafting tomorrow!" (Jessica)
