Virtual Trek in a Sumatran Rainforest

Being organised by the teachers and students
of Dhahran School, Saudi Arabia

Letter from Bill Cason, organiser of the
Sumatran Rainforest Trek.

From Saudi Arabia :-

A warm greeting to all our Virtual partners (Trekkies) from around the world!

The Virtual Sumatran Rainforest Trek has been launched and the response from around the world has been incredible!

We have participants from Sweden, Washington, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, Sumatra, and some other places in Europe via Earthlink.

Our Sumatra contact is a science teacher, Paul Lane, who has a project going with his class and some scientists from Europe and Indonesia.

We will be helping him publish project writing from his students and information about his project via our web page.

We have added some
writing from our group, autobiographical statements and reasons for taking this trek, and will add a few scanned photos from last year's trip in the next few days.

Stay tuned and be sure to send us some correspondence from your classes so this trek can be truly interactive!

Be sure to register all 10-15 year olds with Kidlink in order to fully participate in this trek. Thanks for all your interest and support!

Ma'a salama from Arabia.

Bill

PLEASE NOTE:

To participate in this project you need to do two things :-

1. Contact Bill Cason to tell him you are joining.
2. Register with Patti Weeg at Kidlink so that you can join.

In order to take part in any KIDLINK activity, students have to
answer the four KIDLINK QUESTIONS
and send the answers to: RESPONSE@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU

It is estimated that

an acre of rainforest is destroyed every second!

We hope you will join us to find out why!
