HONEY BISCUITS

I am Anja Polajnar from Slovenia. I am 14 years old and I am in the 8th class of elementary school Maks Pecar in Ljubljana.

INGREDIENTS:

? 20 dag sugar
? 50 dag flour
? 1 1/2 l honey
? 2 eggs
? 1 teaspoon of soda
? 1 teaspoon of rum
? white of an egg
? cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Sift the flour and put in the cinnamon, the sugar, the eggs, and the lukewarm honey.
2. Knead a very smooth dough and put it to rest in a cold place.
3. Make small balls with a teaspoon and put them on a baking tin.
4. Cover the honey biscuits with the white of an egg.
5. In the middle of the biscuit put the nut or smear it with sugar glaze.

CULTURAL BACKGROUND:

Housewives in Slovenia often make the honey biscuits for wedding parties or birthday parties.
