Besan Burfi

Ingredients:

500 g Besan (green gram flour) Ghee for frying
500 g sugar
250 g thickened coconut milk
Cardamon for flavouring
Cashew nuts
1 Teas vanilla essence.

Instructions:

Mix besan with 4 tablespoons of ghee and keep it aside. After 10 minutes, rub the ghee into the besan till it resembles bread crumbs. Fry this in a little butter till light brown. Mix sugar with a little water, boil it till it becomes light brown. Pour this on the besan-ghee mixture. Mix well. Transfer it into a greased plate. Cool and cut into pieces.

History:

When it is the Hindu festival of Deepavali, mum always makes this sweet. It is a very tasty sweet and is one of my favourites. This is a very popular Indian dish. When you eat this sweet it melts in your mouth and you feel like eating more and more. I think, all my friends will like this very much.
