Games From Lingboskolan Lingbo, Sweden
My name is Leif Murhagen and I am a teacher in Lingbo in the middle of
Sweden. I work in a small school, only 40 pupils. We have tried to describe
a game, that the children play . Both boys and girls (8-12 years) play it
in the seasons, when they canīt play soccer and baseball. I send the text
in a file written in MS Works, and I hope you can read it. We would be
grateful to get other games back.
Good Bye
You can be 3-20 partissipants in this game. You use a tennis-ball.
Stand on a row behind each other about 5 meters from a high wall. The first
one in the row throws the ball against the wall about 2-4 meters high.
When the ball bounces on the ground the first one jumps over the ball. (
Jump like a crow. ) If he/ she fails, someone in the row can save him by
catching the ball before it bounces a second time. If someone doesnīt save
you, you must stand along the wall. If you managed to jump over the ball,
you must stand last in the row and next person in the row must catch the
ball. If he/she doesnīt manage to catch the ball, he/she must stand along
the wall.
You continue like this until only one is left and all the other are
standing along the wall.
The one who is left shall throw the ball in the wall three times and catch
it without dropping it to the ground. If you drop it, all who are a
standing along the wall must run and try to touch you. You must change
places with him/her. If you catch the ball three times, you shall give it
to the one who first must stand along the wall. He/she shall throw the ball
so it bounces on the wall over his/her head. It should not be easy for the
one who is left, to catch the ball. If he/she manages to catch the ball you
continue and do the same with all who are standing along the wall. If
he/she doesnīt catch the ball, he/she must change places with the one who
threw the ball.
If nobody standing along the wall manages to come out, must the one who is
left throw the ball in the wall three times again. This time he/she must
clap his/her hands before he/she catches the ball.
Then you go on as you did before. You go on until someone comes out. Every
turn you do, you clap your hands once more before you catch the ball.
When one or many persons come out, they start from the beginning.
The one who is left is the Champion.
