Dear Kids,

Hey!! I am Stephanie. I live in Delmar and I am 11 years old.

I want to write about the "games" project. I like a game called the three legged race. Some of you may know about this, but for those of you who don't, here is how you play:

  • First you must find a partner.
  • After you have found a partner, stand next to each other-shoulder to shoulder. Put one of his/her legs next to your leg and tie them together with a piece of string or rope. Now you have "three" legs!!
  • When the whistle blows, you start to run or walk.

Think of a pattern in how you want to walk with your partner. If you fall, which you probably will, just got back up and try again. When you cross the finish line, believe me, it's quite a victory!!!

Dear Leif,

Hi!! How are you ? I am fine. Thanks for teaching us all about this game. Do you happen to know about the games Dodge Ball, Freeze Tag, Hide and Seek, or Red Rover. Just in case you do not know I will explain them to you.

Dodge Ball

You can have 4 or more players. One single person gets to hold a ball. It should be soft so nobody gets hurt. The others are scattered all over the place and the person tries to get someone with the ball if they get hit they are out and if they are hit from the shoulders up the person who threw it is out. If it hits somebody or something and it bounces off of that or them and hits someone else they aren't out.

Scattered Dodge Ball

You can also have 4 or more players. One person starts with the ball they try to get someone with the ball if someone gets hit they are out. If the person who throws it hits them shoulder up the person who threw it is out. If it hits someone or something and it bounces off of that or them and hits someone else they aren't out. When they throw it if the person catches the ball the person that threw it is out and we continue until one person is left. When you get the ball you can not run after someone.

Freeze Tag

You can have 4 or more people and someone is it. They are the chaser. There is a place called base and you can't be freezed then. You can only stay there for 20 seconds to catch your breath and not be caught and the person who is it chases the people and tags them. In other words they try to get you. They have to tap you not hit you. If you get tagged you are frozen. In other words you are just standing there. If someone tags you while you are frozen if they are not it then you will unfreeze (Defrost). If the person who tries to unfreeze you gets tagged they are out and so on.

Hide and Seek

You can have 4 or more or more players. The person who is it counts to 50 and you hide and then they say Ready or not here I come and then they try to find you. When you are hiding if the person who is it is not near you can run to basde then you can't be it. After everyone is found then the first person found is it. If no one was found because they all got to base they have to be it again unless someone wants to be it.

Red Rover

You can have 6 or more people. On one side there is half of the people that are playing and on the other side is the other half. Everyone's arms are linked together very tightly. Then one person on one of the sides starts by saying Red Rover, Red Rover will you please send (Someone's name) over. They run to the people who called to them and they try to break through their arms. If they get through they get to go back but if they fail at trying to get through they have to stay on the side where they tried to get through. Then after five minutes whoever has the most players win.

Wanda's Carlot

You can have 4 or more players. There is a person who is Wanda or Wander and they call out 4 things like four cars, four animals, etc. You call each of them out and the people have picked the thing that they are and when it is called out they have to run to base and if you get tagged. You have to stay there in that spot and try to tag the other people who is running by. Then after 2-3 minutes you can switch and the first person who is tagged is Wanda or Wander. Wander is a boy.

My name is Ashleigh DeBord. Sorry if you know these games already. I am 11 years. 6th grade is the grade I am in. Well, I have to go. Bye Bye!!
