Hi kids and teachers,
We are about to board the newest airline on the runways... "KIDLINK Air"
Does everyone have a passport and boarding pass?? Please limit your handheld luggage to that which will fit in the overhead compartments. Fastenyour seatbelts.
We will be travelling to all eight of our KIDLINK countries participatingin the "Money Around the World" project. Along with your passports I hopeyou brought some.........MONEY!!!
As we enter each country we will need to exchange our money for the moneyof the country we are visiting. Hmmm... need some help? I do! Here isour reference:
The GNN/Koblas Currency Converter can be found at this URL:
This is a clever place for finding how much our money will be worth inmany countries depending on the rate of exchange for the day. Hmmm..anyone want to try and find out why this rate changes?
Ok now.. here is our task for these next two weeks in our project.(October 21- November 3) Let's find out what our money will be worth and fill in the chart below. The last several weeks of our project we will look at prices in our participating countries and will plan to 'spend' our MONEY. ;-)
Ahhh.. perhaps the best part!
Your country is on the left of this chart. Fill in the columns with the value of *one* unit of your money in each of the other countries. I have filled in one for you. ;-) ...your own! Go to the URL that I gave you and see what you can find. We'll need this chart filled in when we start to 'spend' money in each country. Don't hesitate to ask for help if Ihave not explained this clearly. *However* I will charge for this service - in American dollars!!!! Questions are free but answers will cost you! Hehehee.... just teasing.
