3.Activity: Personal Measurements
Begin Date: December 1
End Date: Open throughout duration of project.
Summary: Using either metric or standard forms of measurement (for
example-weight, length, temperature), students develop their own
equivalents. For example, 1 pound =1 cantaloupe. That way, we can
compare the two systems of measurement, and also give the kids some
jumping off point of reference for estimation.

<32 degrees F.=time to wear a hat (and I *never* wear a hat unless it's
below freezing)
60-70 degrees F.=time to wear a flannel shirt

12:00 am = I always start getting tired.
12:30 am = I get hungry for lunch.
2 cups of water = My cup filled to the top.
45 pounds = about the same as my little brother .
85-90 pounds = the same weight as me.
