Eoboi-nal // Parent's Day - Korea (South)
by Park Ji-youn

floating date January

We have Parent's Day on the eighth day of May. It was originally called Mother's Day, but is now called Parent's Day for fear that fathers should feel alienated. We say, "Thank you very much" to parent on Parent's Day.

On Parent's Day, my sister and I offer to them a carnation and a small present. Sons, and daughters buy a handkerchif for Father and a pair of slippers for Mother as gifts for Parent's Day. Also they treat many kinds of food to parent, and they give letters as a token of gratitude to parent. They have a nice day.
