New Year's Eve // New Year's Eve - United States
by Erica Fletcher

31 December

Every year around New Year's Eve I go to my grandparents' house with my cousins. When we get there we start decorating the house with confetti. Then we make a ball for the ball that drops at midnight. When there are only 5 seconds left, either my cousin or me will stand on a chair and the other person will count down 5,4,3,2,1, Happy New Year and drop the ball. Then my grandmother will make apple juice for us and champagne for the grown-ups. Then all of us will clang the glasses together.
