Christmas Eve // Christmas Eve - Several countries
by Veronica Lovell

24 December

This is a holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Many people decorate trees and their houses with lights and ornaments. It is also a time for family gatherings and exchanging of presents.

Christmas is a holiday that occurs in sveral countries but not always on the same day. Holland celebrates Christmas Dec 6th. On Christmas Eve every year my husban's family has a great big get together every year. When we arive we have to say hello to everyone and try to find a seat. Soon after everybody get there we have a hugh Christmas dinner. If you don't eat Granny(my husband's granny) will get very mad. It is almost as if it is an insult if you are not hungry. After we have all stuffed our selves to the max, we pass out presents. After all the presents are passed out slowly one part of the family at a time we leave. When we get up the next morning we start all over agian with his mother's side of the family. On Christmas afternoon we finally have a four hour drive to my family. At my family we opean presenta and stuff ourselves one more time. I believe this why we gain weight at the holiday season.
