Patriot's Day - USA

Patriot's Day
Patriots Day is a special day in Lexington Massachussets where I live. It's a special day because the British and the Minuteman fought on the green in Lexington on April 19, 1775. So each year on Patriots day we have a renactment of the fight. They have canons and guns. The renactment starts at six a.m. and the parades start around eight a.m. At twelve the big parade starts and the Red Coats and the Minuteman march down Massachusetes Avenue. Most of the roads are closed and down in the center there are stands where you can buy flags and floats and fried dough, popcorn, ect. I don't know if you have learned about Paul Revere and the Revolutionary War.If you did you will know that Paul Revere rode all around Massachussets yelling "The British are coming." Paul Revere's ride started at the North Church in Boston. he rode through Lexington to Concord. During the big parade, that starts at North Church, Paul Revere goes through the street on horseback. When I was little I would sleep over my grand parents house and at 4:30 we would get up and walk to the green to get good seats. Now that I'm older and it is a holiday I sleep as late as I can and when I do get up it is a treat to have my mother home from work. So we can go to some of the parades together.
