Patriot's Day - USA
by Carl Robinson
19 April
Patriots Day
Patriot's Day is very important in Lexington, Massachusetts. Lexington is the place that the minutemen fought to become a free country. On Patriot's Day in Lexington there are reenactments of the different battles. My family and I go to at least one battle a year. There is also a big parade that goes through the center of town. This year I'm marching in the band. The parade is filled with marching bands, floats, clowns, people dressed as minutemen, and more. On April nineteenth, 1776, at one o'clock in the morning Paul Revere rode through Lexington yelling," The British are coming! The British are coming!!!" The minutemen were ready minutes after. Then the shot rang round the world. The British attacked and won the battle. The next day the minutemen gathered up more men and ambushed the British driving them back to their ships. There are people all around the world that come to this amazing event.
