Christmas Eve // Bozicni vecer - Slovenia
by Alenka's school kids
24 December
On the night before Christmas we decorate our room. In the corner we put Christmas tree. Under the tree we save the place for Betlehem. I like that part a lot. First I put some moss and I cover the ground with thach. Then I put a piece of the material on the wall, after that I put a little wood house. Around the Jesus I put sheep and few shephards.I do not forget to put a star. In all families you can feel the Christmas spirit. We give each other present and gifts. We have a lot of good food to eat. For example: potica - this is a slovenian cake, baked from raised dough with walnut, raisen or other filling. Than we eat home made bread, we drink red wine, we have a turkey and other good chocolate cakes and cookies. I have to say, that my mother makes the best Christmas dinner in the whole world. I think that Christmas is the most beautiful holiday in our country.
