National Day - Kuwait
by Ahmed Ramadan

25 February

NATIONAL DAY

On the 25th of February each year, Kuwaitis celebrates their national day. Most families visit each other and celebrates this special day in their homes, and others wander alomg the streets waving the Kuwaiti flags with happy faces all around the place.

On the other hand, some people spend their time going to places like the Gulf road and Missila beach, where they celebrate parties and throw fireworks in the air and spray on each other with coloured foam. In the big hotels like Merdian, Sheraton, SAS and HolidayInn they decorate the out with bulbs of wonderful colours to form the Kuwaiti flag around the hotels and over the buildings. They look very nice indeed.

It is important to have a National day because on this special day Kuwait gained its independence.
