Advent Time // Adventszeit - Germany
by Mareike
1 December
28 Days
Hi there!I want to tell you something about Christmas in Germany. At the beginning of December the time which is called "Adventstime" starts. The last four weeks before Christmas we light one more candle every Sunday. On the 6th December we celebrate "Nikolaus"."Nikolaus" is a man like Santa Claus who fills the shoes of children during the night with sweets and small presents. On Christmas Eve we often go to church in the afternoon. When we return home we get our presents which are lying under the Christmas tree. After that we are having a special Christmas meal. The next two days are nice, too. People often visit relatives and friends.Children play with their presents which they got the evening before.Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Yours Mareike from Germany.
