St. Nicholas Day

In the evening of the 5th December children clean their shoes and put them on a windowsill. During the night St. Nicholas will come and fill their shoes with sweets, provided their behaviour has been good. But he doesn't travel alone. His companion is Krampus (Devil) and he gives golden twigs to naughty children. The naughtier the child, the bigger the twig. In fact, each child gets a twig, just in case. And of course, each will get some sweets.
