We are Mrs. Papailiou's 6th Grade Enrichment Class from Beers Street Middle School in Hazlet, New Jersey. Hazlet is located in central New Jersey, just 5 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and a forty minute ride from New York City. Our school mascot is the Beers Street Bulldog. We have 350 students in our school, grades six to eight.

We have many extra curricular activities here at Beers Street. These include Yearbook Staff, Newspaper Staff, Student Council, Natural Helpers, and Odyssey of the Mind (OM). Our school's athletic program includes boys and girls socer and basketball, boys baseball, girls softball, and girls cheerleading squad.

New Jersey's nickname is the "Garden State" Our state bird is the eastern goldfinch, and our state flower is the purple violet. Our state's name comes from the Channel Isle of Jersey. We rank first in population density. Here in New Jersey we have four distinctive seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

New Jersey is host to a number of sports teams. Some of these teams actually have a "New York" name, but play in New Jersey. For example, the Giants, the Jets, and the Metrostars all play their home games in the Meadowlands, in northern New Jersey. Many of us are also Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Knicks, Nets, Yankees, and Mets fans.

We look forward to joining all of you in playing the Landmark Game.
