Wizard picture

Hi! It's me again -- the KIDWRITERS Wizard. Welcome to our Holiday page. My help button is located next to all of the other graphics in our table of contents. Clicking on any one of the gifs next to my picture on the holiday page will take you to a different project on the page.

If you click on countries gifyou will be taken directly to our Holiday traditions project. On this part of hte page you will find many flags. Behind each flag will be a story, poem or biography of a December or January holiday tradition that takes place in hte home og our Kidlink member coming from that country. To send us your stories, simply send mail to John Ost, the KIDWRITERS list manager.

If you click on the Interactive poem gifpicture, you will be transported to a new feature in KIDWRITERS -- the The New Year's Wish interactive poem and story. Throughout all of the projects in the KW studio, you will encounter opportunities to take part in community-wide writing projects. for htis project, we would like you to contribute some lines about your wish for the New Year or some special throughts about this holiday season. We encourahe you to write your rfesponse in your native language and in English (if your native language is not English.) We ask you to do this so because the majority of our the Kidlink community members can read English, We also encourage you to record songs and submit pictures by mail that accompany what you write.

Finally, we are adding a new feature to all of our writing forums, Curriculum idea pictureideas for classroom projects and curriculum development. If this feature is not yet active, its only because our list manager, John Ost, has fallen asleep again. Write him a note. Wake him up!

SERIOUSLY, the curriculum projects area is where you will find great ideas for implementing writing and the computer into your curriculum. John will often start the ball rolling with ideas here. But, hopefully, the majority of the ideas will come from your colleagues around the world. These curriculum ideas will be cataloged and stored in the KIDWRITERS library, which is scheduled to open in January, 1998.

Well, that is all for now.
