My Hero & Me

Responses:

ARGENTINA

My Hero-from Argentina

Hi, from Argentina. We are also very sad about what happened to Mother

Teresa, she was a kind and exceptional woman who lived her whole life

helping people. In one of her speeches she said that people have to give

love until it hurts you. She was humble, that is what people must learn

from her, love and humbleness can support any problem. She had been given

many Prizes, but the greatest one was the Nobel of Peace, even when she

said that she would not have been given that.

She was a Geography teacher, but from the age of sixteen she knew that she

had to help people in the name of God, that is why she travelled to Calcuta

and started helping poor and ill people from the streets in a little room.

Now her congregation has a lot of head offices in more than one hundred

countries.

Now that she is dead people have to think of what she has done, and do the

same, or try to do their best.

Juan Cruz, I am 15. Republica Argentina.

Hello, from Argentina.

The death of Mother Teresa did affect me, I know of

all her exceptional actions that she made and I accept that all her acts of

faith are followed by their adepts, so that poor people in Calcuta and the

whole world could have the posibilities the same as they had when she was

alive. I think that the Nobel Prize was well given to her because of all

the good actions she made.

If people follow her ideas this world would be as good to live as we all dream.

My Hero

I think a hero is someone that you can look up to. A hero can be anyone. A

hero is someone that you might like what they do or how they act. A hero is

also someone that does things that most people are afraid to do. My hero is

Tino Martinez because he is one of the great baseball players. He has the

most home runs in his career and many people look up to him.

I once read an article about Tino Martinez. It told about when he was

young, his goal was to be the best baseball player. He hit a ball against a

chain link fence in his yard so many times that it made a hole in it.

I hope to have his strength to do the best that I can do and be the best

that I can be.

My Hero

To me a hero is someone who saves people's lives by something like saving

them from drowning . But a hero can also be someone who helps and cares for

others.

My hero is Mother Teresa. She was born in 1910 in Yugoslavia. When she

was 18 years old she became a nun in Ireland. One year later she moved to

India to teach geography at a convent school in Calcutta. In 1946 she

started to work for the poor people who lived in slums. In 1948 she opened

the first school in a slum in Calcutta. A few years later she was awarded

the Nobel Peace Price for all her help towards the poor. Later in 1980 she

was given an other price. It was the Bharat Ratna price. That was Indias

best civilization award. The next year she came to Newark in New Jersey to

open a convent at Saint Augustine’s Parish. But sadly, Mother Teresa past

away on September 5th at the age of 87.

She is my hero because she spent most of her life helping the poor and

sick people. I think it takes a lot of dedication to spent ones life

helping the poor and living in poor neighborhoods. By: Jessica W

BRIDGES, San Antonio de Padua, Buenos Aires, Argentina:

Many people believe that Mother Teresa and Lady Di were saints. Mother

Teresa did many things for poor people and Lady Di helped sick people. At

night when Diana couldn't sleep, she went to hospitals and talket to people

with AIDS, cancer or to sick children. Unfortunately Lady Di died in an

accident but Mother Teresa died because she was old.

Both dedicated their lives to needy people and did the most important thing

that they could do and that was to give love to everyone.

from: Melina, Carolina, Sol, Laura

Here, the death of Lady Di overlapped the death of Mother Teresa because

Lady Di was a more fashionable person than Mother Teresa. But for us the

death of Mother Teresa was more important because, although both made good

things for poor people, Mother Teresa didn't have money to help them and

Diana did.

Luciano, Alejandro, Lucas

Mother Teresa was a wonderful human being because since she was very young,

she gave her life to the poor, the children who suffered from famine,

people without families and everybody who needed her. She had a simple life

but her heart was full of love and peace.

Mother Teresa was a good person. She helped many people who didn't have

money or family. She was humble and she didn't care for money. Sle loved

kids. Now that she is not here we hope that another person can go on with what she started.

Ines Fusaro

She gave her life for poor people. She was very important for our society.

I'm sad for her death. Her work was very important. All people in the world

miss her.

Pablo Roldan and Marcelo Condori

Mother Teresa was a good person and she helped people with problems, For

her money wasn't important, love was really important and this is true.

People will love her for ever.

Veronica La Roca

She was the richest person that gave her life to the poor. She did not need

money because she had her love for homeless or poor children or adults. She

helped people.

Anabel Lacanna

I didn't know much about Mother Teresa but people say that she was a good

person and that she had a great heart. I really think she helped a lot of

people who must be very happy. I wish there were more people like her.

Johana Polifrone

I've known her for a short time but I can see in Mother Teresa the

humbleness of the world.

For me she was the only woman that didn't care about money and didn't care

about herlself. She helped a lot of persons and she was very kind with the

homeless. She gave people the love they needed. Well, I don't know many

things about her, the only thing that I know is that she was a very

important person for the things that she made, and that she was a very good

person.

Agustina

Mother Teresa of Calcuta is not a mother any longer, she's an angel. When

she lived she was the mother of needy people, but now she is the new angel

of the modern world. In my opinion, at this moment people need a new Angel,

and Mother Teresa was chosen to perform this role. I think that people

shouldn't cry or write (like me) about Mother Teresa, they should always do

what they wish to help people who need the most. It is very simple to say

it, but the most important thing is to do it. We aren't like Angel Teresa,

because if we were like her we would help more. I believe that Mother

Teresa wasn't a hero, she was an example for the world.

Diego Merlo

That dark day began with some sad news: the death of Mother Teresa who was

and will be a sign of life for all the people. That sign was represented in

the happiness of the poor and in the eyes of those who were ill. People say

that that georgeous woman will be always remembered and that she will be in

their hearts. Finally, I would like to say that each tear people shed will

be like a "thank you" for all what she did.

Christian Condori

Nowadays, trying to find a person like Mother Teresa is almost impossible.

In my opinion she had come to dedicate her life to the humble and needy

people. I couldn't meet her, and that's a pity, because you can't find

round the corner a person with her qualities. Her objectives were

wonderful: "to help the fellow man" and that is an example of life. If each

of us tries to do a part of her work we can create a better world for the

next generation. I don't pretend to be like her, because she was unique and

not everybody has that strong spirit and heart. Finally, her death was a

big loss for the whole world but her noble spirit will live with us for

ever.

Carla Almada

Since Mother Teresa's death, the whole world has been shocked. The reason

is obvious, we lost one of the great hearts of the times, a real hero,

somebody who transmited a beautiful message of peace and love. Nowadays,

its almost impossible to find a person who is willing to give up material

things in order to help people, of course without expecting anything in

return from anyone. Mother Teresa changed the world of people in need to a

world of hope. Beyond religion or any political ideas she knew how to show

us the way to create a nice place to live, a world where the most important

word is "help", where the most effective shelter is a "smile", where

everything is not possible but if we want, we can try. There are too many

reasons to cry for Mother Teresa, but it is more important to learn that

she, apart from winning the Nobel Prize, she has won a great place in

Heaven and a great place in our hearts. If people were like her, the world

would be better of each of us. Don't you think the same?

Luis Prieto

The loving Mother Teresa was a humble woman who learnt to give up all her

possessions to be the mother of the poor. She tried to change the world

with her small actions and she helped a lot of people. She received the

Nobel Prize. She travelled to Calcuta and established her congregation in

the name of God. From there she made the world think about the others

instead of themselves. She will live in the heart of the people for ever.

Ana Ramirez

My hero is Mother Theresa because she always helped poor and ill people.

In our world nowadays, these values seem to be fading away day after day.

She was loved by all the people because she had a big heart, which is a

synonym of LOVE.In this materialist world, flooded by the corrupted marketing,

LOVE given without expecting a reward starts to sound very strange.

I think she was a mafnificent woman woman because she helped all the

children she could,principally;poor children.

She was a happy person during all her life, bacause she did what she wanted:

 "Charity with the poor people".

Three weeks ago when she died all the world cried for her, principally "her

city"- Calcuta. That day the world lost a unique woman.

I don't have any heroes, so I'll write about the man I admire.

He was an Argentine doctor called Maradona. He was a man who, being

very rich because his family was in a good financial position,

abandoned his possessions and went to work to small villages in the

country to assist poor people. For me this is the most charitable

person I have ever heard about.

I admire him and his work, but I don't think that I may do the same

thing, I can't even think about it.

Leonardo Nunez

My hero is not a famous person but he is someone I love a lot. This

person taught me a lot of things: to love, to be a good person, to

take care of important things. He is my hero because he always

helped me and although he isn't here with me, I remember him with

pride and happiness. May be he didn't save anyone's life or he

didn't help poor people but he is important to me because he gave me

love and other important things which helped me to mature. So, I

thank him for being like he is. I would like to be like him because

he is the best person I have ever met, but I know I can't be like

him because I would have to be born again.

A hero can be anyone, a father, a mother, a friend not a famous

person. I doesn't matter. I don't think a hero es someone

distinguished for exceptional courage, fortitude or bold enterprise.

In my opinion is someone you admire and you feel proud of, because he

is important for you and made something important for you.

**************************************************************

I am the kind of person who likkes to take the best things or examples from
everyone, but there is a person who is the most suitable one to have as an
image whose examples i love to follow.

He is my brother Nicholas who is 24.First of all he always wears smart
clothes when he has to go out, even when he goes to work.
He has an incredible good taste,he usually wears jeans, shirts, sweaters, and
he has three terrific thick jackets which he sometimes lends to me.

He is very tidy and he has his wardrobe according to his way of being.
He is always trying to keep everything in its correct place.
In addition,he chooses dark colours like me,for example : dark
blue,black,brown and red to contrast.

Another thing I like of him is that he always divides his studies from
enjoyment. In spite of his studying a lot during the week even on Sundays
he likes going out on Saturdays.I know all of us need some fun,so does he.

To sum up,he is very serious. He only laughs when he has to,so it makes him
an interesting,intelligent and kind person.

On the whole,I can tell you that I would like to be like him in some way.

In conclusion,I like to take images of the best people's important behaviour.

My Hero and me by Alexander from Mar del Plata,Republica Argentina.
> I am 14.***********************************************************

My hero is Billy Corgan, the singer of "Smashing Pumpkins",because he knows
what he is doing. If he keeps on singing as he does, his fame will really
reach the summit.

He also devotes much time to his lyrics because if you start reading one
of them you will see a real focus of the actual problems in the world.

Nowadays it is not easy to find someone with that kind of straight and
peculiar way way of transmitting messages.

My only question is when they are going to launch a new compact disk.

 Alexander.(14 years old)

My hero is my father because he is a person who has a lot of strenght. He is
working for his family all the time.

I think he gave his life for us,his family.

During his life he has had a lot of economical and family problems but he
has always kept on goin ahead.

I admire my father because in spite of his having troubles with his business,
the banks, and his shops;when he arrives home he is happy and he starts
playing or talking with my brother and me.

You can talk with him for a long time and he always gives you good advices.
I LOVE MY FATHER.

By Paula from Republica Argentina.I am 14.

In my life I do not have any serious hero.Maybe a hero can be a member of
my family.A hero is a person we admire as a person for his qualities.

In this world we have not any hero who highlights over other people.

I admire a person whose name was "Tanguito".He was a musician in the 70's.
He was not a drugaddict,he was only against the dome made by the military
rulers of those days.

He composed music with "a double sense",as :"El Oso".("The Bear").
He had not rules or limits. He said that our country was a dirty one on those
days.(17 years ago).

But a hero, as the artists have always a bad side;he was a lunatic.

He "coined" a new kind of music. He was the main person of the history of the
"rock"music in Argentina.

By Pablo from Republica Argentina.I am 14.
======
I want to write to you all about the best Hero I have ever had in all my
life.It is an excellent one.

My best hero is very tall.he is a black man and the strongest player in all
times. My best Hero is Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

He is my Hero because he is the best player of all times of NBA and in all
the places.

By Esteban from Republica Argentina.I am 12 years old.

Firstly,I have not got any hero, because I am not anyone to put a person on a
golden pedestal, nobody is better than you,my parents or myself.

But,a different thing is:"I would like to be like......."-

And,yes!I would like to be like my mother or father, because they have been
an example to me since I was born.

Finally,I do not take any examples from the people that appear on T.V. or
other mass media, becausevall the examples we are watching at present are
a big mountain of junk.
