
![]() Illinois My hero Mariah Carey inspires me to do great things someday. She is a great singer and loves kids. She won lots of awards because everyone loves her music. Every time people hear her songs, it touches them, in a way that no one can explain. Someday I would like to be like her and meet her also. Susan Reed 7th grade. My hero Kerrie Strug inspires me to do great things someday. Kerrie Strug is a gold medal Olympic Champion in gymnastics. I would like to win a gold medal someday. The thing that inspires me most about Kerrie is her sportsmanship, and her team work for the United States of America. Cassy Craft 7th grade My hero Celine Dion inspires me to do great things someday. Celine is a singer and when I get older I want to be a singer also. Celine has a big heart. She gave her mom her house and her siblings money just because she wanted to. I like her because she helps out people and sings great music. Anieka Jones 7th grade My hero Mrs. Carlson inspires me to do great things someday. She was my 6th grade math teacher last year. She helped me improve in math so I wouldn't be failing. She always took the time to listen when I had problems. She would also show us how to do math so we would understand it better. We all missed her when she moved to New Mexico. I hope that when I grow older, I will be able to use what she taught me. I want to become a good listener like her. Matthew Oldham 6th grade My hero Michael Johnson inspires me to do great things someday. He inspires me because he was in the Olympics. He's broken the 200 and 400 records. He inspires me because he always keeps running and he never is unhappy. He always smiles even when he is pumping his hardest, working on his last breath. That is why I think he is a great role model. Mitchell R Wolf 7th grade My hero Kerrie Strug inspires me to do great things someday. Kerrie Strug is a gold medal Olympic champion. I would like to be a gymnast someday. The thing that inspires me the most is her sportsmanship, and her team work for the United States of America. Cassy Craft 7th grade My hero Mrs. Huffman, my art teacher, inspires me to do great things someday. I think that Ms. Huffman is my hero because she can draw and she never gives up, even when she has a hard day. She keeps a smile on her face . She never gives up on anything even when somebody can't draw that special something. I couldn't draw draw at all when I fist went into her class. When I came out it was totally different for me. I had a better attitude and I could draw. I want to be just like her so I could help people and draw just like her. Sabrina Garrett 7th grade My hero Damon Stoudmimire inspires me to do great things someday. He plays basketball for the Toronto Raptors. I like to do everything he accomplished when he played basketball. I also like his attitude because he doesn't yell when someone makes a mistake. He has great sportsmanship. I would like to be pro basketball player someday like him. Josh Bell 7th grade My hero Dominique Moceanu inspires me to do great things someday. She is a good gymnast. I want to be just like her because gymnastics is my favorite sport. Dominique works hard and does her best. I dream to be just like her. Dominique won the 1995 World Champion at the US Olympics. I always watch her when she is on TV. Erika Ahlsrand 7th grade My hero Mr. Kopp inspires me to do great things someday. He is funny and he likes playing around with peoples minds. He helps with things we get stuck on with our homework. He has many talents such as social studies and joke playing on other teachers. He is a lot older that me but he is a great teacher and something I would like to become someday. Renea Amerman 7th grade My hero Kevin Garnet inspires me to do great things someday. Even though he's 20 years old and this is his second season in the NBA, he's still a good player. He plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves and he and Stephan Mauberry hope to lead their team to a championship this year. Garnet is determined to win a championship. He's averaging 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. I hope to be in the NBA someday. Chris Jones 7th grade My hero is Jeff Brown, the principal of our school. He inspires me to keep
going and to ignore the put downs, the arguments and the fights. When I'm
feeling down and upset he is there to help a friend in need . When I'm in
the pits he's there to pull me out. I want to be like him someday. He's
the best. I also want to do good deeds like him.

My hero is Mr. Buccola, one of my teachers. He inspires me to do great things. He helps me with problems I have with the internet. He knows a lot about computers and that is why I look up to him. I want to build my life and knowledge off his experience. He has and is right now giving me chances to start making a mark in life when I'm only 13. Josh Rubright 7th grade My hero Dominique Moceanu inspires me to do great things someday. She is a very good athlete. She is always smiling in her routines, even when she is having a bad day. I wish I could meet her. She has won a number of medals. I wish I could just go out and do all of the stuff she does. Jolyn Williamson 7th grade My hero is Ken Griffy Jr. because he is a good sports player. I want to be like him so I can be a star and make my family proud of me. I like it when he hits a home run out of the stadium. I watch some of his games on TV. Jim Kraemer 7th grade My dad is my hero. He inspires me to do great things someday. My dad encourages me in sports like, softball, basketball and bowling. When my dad was little he was very poor, but year by year he has excelled by getting a good job and playing sports. I plan to do great things when I am older because my dad has given me many opportunities in my life. He also tries to do things with me he has never done, or never had nay opportunities. That's why I want to be great as my dad in getting a good playing in sports, and doing good in school. Whitney Hughes 7th grade My hero, my dad inspires me to do great things someday. He isn't very well known, but I look up to him because he teaches me a lot. When I don't have any thing to do he tells me to read. My dad wants more for me than he had. He wants me to have a better job and life. That's why he is my hero. Danny Wires 7th grade My hero Dominique Motion inspires me to do great things someday. She won an award in 1996 for being such a good gymnast. She always keeps trying and never stops even if she is hurt of in pain. She doesn't get to see her family very often, but when she does see her family she tries top spend the most time with them. I think Dominique would be a good role model because she is caring and a great gymnast. I would like to be just like her a great gymnast. Lesha Lifka 7th grade My hero is my mom. She inspires me to do great things someday. She is very kind, loving and caring person. She always wants me to do better than her, because she had had a hard life in the past. But even though her past hard, she is making mine better. That's why my mom is my hero. Amanda Leal--7th grade My hero is Michael Jordan because he kept on trying and he never quit even after his dad died. He is the best basketball player I have ever seen in my life. I want to be a good person just like him, I want to have a lot of money just like him. Amber Johnson -7th grade My hero is Leesa Leslie because she inspires me to reach my dream. My dream is to be a good basketball player, and to be able to be on the USA girls basketball team, just like her. She plays on the Portland Powers and is very good. Her average points in a game is 15 and 8 rebounds. One day I hope to reach my dream. Heather Gould--7th grade My hero Jeff Brown inspires me to do great things. He is the principal of our school. He always encourages us to be winners and not hang around with the losers. I hope that Mr. Brown stays principal for a long time. Joey Doane--7th Grade My hero is my mom. She is loving and caring. She always want to help others. She always listens to me and my friends. She also helps my brother and me with whatever we need. She inspires me to help others and I hope I will be like her when I grow up. Stacey Clapper--7th grade My hero, Mariah Carrey, inspires me to do well in my singing career someday. She started out at the age of 17. First, she had a hard time getting started and she barely made it. She likes to write about all of her feelings even through hard times. I have had my doubts about making it in being a singer. After I thought about it I realized she stuck to her dreams. Everything can get hard sometimes, but I don't believe in ever quitting. Valerie Bertolozzi--8th grade My Hero is my grandma. She inspires me to do great things someday. She isn't famous, but she tells me of how her life used to be bad and how she did what she could. When she was little she was poor, her parents didn't take care of her, she took care of her sisters. Today she is a kind, loving person. She lets me do stuff she never got to do. I hope I'm as caring as her. Nicole Gragert-7th grade My hero is Bryan Boerjan, a fellow classmate. He always gets good grades, stays out of fights, and he is a great friend. He is also a great athlete who encourages me to try my hardest in basketball. He never gives up and he is a hero in my eyes for those many reasons. Jennai Basnight-7th grade I admire Mike Singletary because he is a good person on the field and off the football field. He played on the Bears for a long time. He wasn't the richest person growing up and he didn't live in the best neighborhood either. But, he overcame such challenges and became a football player. One of the best middle linebackers ever. Now he is retired and just opened a children's hospital. He's helping poor neighborhoods be a better place to live. I want to be like him because he has accomplished so much and he also is a great person, like I said, because he is a great person. Andy Weflen-7th grade My hero Ms. Leddy, one of my teachers. She inspires me to do great things. Mrs. Leddy has shown me that complaining doesn't get you anywhere. She has been encouraging people and kids to get fit. She says that you can do anything you want to do only if your parents approve. She says to push your self. I think that what she has told me will become useful in the future. Jammi Griffis- 6th grade My hero Jed Johnson inspires me to do great things someday. He shows me that even though he's younger than the other people on his basketball team he can be just as good as them. That inspires me to exceed above the others my age and be the best I can be the best I can be. I know his dream is to become a professional basketball player and at the rate he is going, he is sure to succeed. That shows me if you believe in yourself you can do anything Lacy Hughes-7th grade My hero is my dad, he inspires me to do great things someday. My dad inspires me to do good in school. I want to be like my dad because he is fun to be around. He has a good job and can fix about anything. Larry Wolf-7th grade My hero Carrie Strug, a gymnast, inspires me to do great things someday. Carrie always does what she feels is right. Even when she is hurt or depressed, she does her best. Carrie Strug has gave me confidence and will. I watched her on t.v. and noticed how good she is. She got this way by practicing. Carrie has showed that practicing is the best way to get good at something. That is why I like her so much.
