KIDPROJ

United States of America

Student Artist Unknown

The red stripes represent blood and the deaths of people that fought. The white stripes represent life of the people that fought. There are more red stripes than white stripes because there are more deaths. There are 50 stars that represent the 50 states of the United States. Originally there were only 13 stars placed in a circle, when they added another state they also added a star to the flag. No one really knows who made the first flag. And no one knows exactly when the first flag was made, but many people believe it was Betsy Ross in the year 1776.
