The fifth grade students at Hall Memorial School in Willington, Connecticut
are excited about researching their family history.
Willington is a small town in north-east Connecticut. We have
little
industry and most peopel commute to work in area cities. Our
school has
360 students in grades 4 to 8. We have a very diverse population,
with
ancestors coming from all over the world.
As part of our Family History project, we are entering our Family Trees
into the Macintosh computers in our computer lab. When we are
finished, we
will print them out on parchment paper, along with a picture of oursleves
with some item from our family that has been handed down from our
ancestors.
We are relating all we learn about our families to what we are studying
in
social studies about the history of the United States.
Some of the families we are researching are: Quigan, Kelly, Walker,
Henriques, Dione,Daigle, Theis, Williams, Brown
