Hello, I am excited about this Project and look forward to becoming
involved and helping in any way I can.
I have been researching my family for about five years. I am one of 15
children and in 1992, I decided to put together a book of pictures and
family information for my mother's 89th birthday which was in 93. After
collecting all the data from my brothers & sisters and their children,
grandchildren, etc., I decided to include my grandparents and their
family and "the rest is history"... I was hooked.
Most of my family are early New England, migrating into NY state, then
on to PA where many of them still reside in the Bradford County area.
My husband and I, along with two daughters came to Tucson in 1970 and
fell in love with the desert and the wonderful winters, we won't mention
the summers! (but it has been a hot, miserable one).
I have several ancestors that fought in the Revolution, most Americans
but one Hessian and even found a British General killed at the Battle of
Saratoga. One known in the War of 1812 & some in the Civil War.
I have started putting up my family history on a website, it can be
found at
http://members.tripod.com/~Silvie/index.htmlif you'd like to check the surnames and I have the family info entered
on some of them.
I am fascinated with genealogy, my only regret is not getting started
earlier, a lot of valuable information was lost as older relatives
passed away. Maybe this project will not only spark interest in the
children, but will rub off on other family members.
Thanks for listening.
