Sheryl McNeely Shaw

Hello, my name is Sheryl Shaw, I am a volunteer for Kidroots. I have 17 years of elementary classroom teaching. I am now staying at home with my son who just turned 5 years old. I love being home with him but miss my students.

As a hobby to do while staying home with my son, I began working on all the family history and information that I had collected for many years. Genealogy has been a wonderful outlet for me. I have met numerous cousins and friends through genealogy. The internet is such a wonderful medium for genealogy. It is fast and really provides you with a good network of support.

I live in Crosby, TX which is 25 miles northeast of Houston TX. Much of my research so far has been done in Owen Co KY area, MO, TN, and TX. I am now branching out into NY, PA, VA, NC, and SC. Wish this program had been available for me!! Perhaps then I would have been a bit more diligent in recording the information that I learned from my grandparents. I look forward to being involved with Kidroots.
