My name is Terry Beer, and I am Robin's mom. He is one of my four children, the only one in the 10 - 15 yr age category that can participate in this project. We live on 6 acres of rainforest on the coast of British Columbia, Canada. Beyond the reach of electricity, we run this computer off our solar panels, through an inverter.

Robin Beer is in grade 5/6, and is part of the BC Ministry of Education's Electronic Busing Program, run by the Nechako Lakes School District, #91. The Ministry provides computer, internet account, educational software, and online teaching consultant. Robin has always been homeschooled; this is his second year on the "ebus", as the program is known.

He's very excited about the Family History Project, and has been phoning and emailing grandparents. We have decided to base our year's social studies on this Project. We plan to put up a wall map of the world, and he can stick labeled pins for each ancestor in their birthplace. And we'll also be using this project as a take-off for studying history.
