The topic that has been chosen for our essay is the Thunder Bay River. The
river flows through our township to Lake Huron at the 45th parallel. 200
years ago the river was very important to the Native Americans who lived on
the river. 100 years ago it was very important to the many lumber camps who
cut down the White Pine. Today it is very important to the people of Alpena
County for many different reasons.
