Bridgnorth
Bridgnorth is a quiet place.
You can often smell chips
when you go up town. There
are a lot of people up town.
You can often see cars packed
in a row. Bridgnorth has a train
station, the steam comes out
of the train like a kettle boiling.....
It is a market town and attracts a lot of tourists,
especially at weekends and in the summer holidays. In High Town there
is the remains of a castle which used to defend the town. To reach it you
have to walk along a path called Castle Walk which winds around the
cliff like a snake. From there you can see the whole of Low Town where
the fields look like a patchwork quilt....
There is a river running through the town called the River Severn. In the
middle of the river there is a small island called the Bylet. It is where
people play bowls. There is a cliff-railway so that you don't have to walk
up to the top of town or to the bottom of town. It is like a small carriage
from a train. There is a carriage at the top and a carriage at the bottom.
A wheel is at the top that pulls the carriages up and down. It is like a
spider crawling up a wall.....
Bridgnorth is a small historical
town in south Shropshire. It is
a very nice town. Bridgnorth
has a market every Saturday
in the high street. It is always
as packed as a football
ground. I live in a house in
Conduit Lane....
I see a lot of things all the views , I can see every thing up on the top of
the queens parlour like the park, towns, houses, pubs, all the counties,
Telford, Pan Pudding Hill, the church, the by pass , and lots more...
As I look out of my window, I can see cornfields green and yellow as
bright as the sun. I can see an old fashioned church and little houses
nearby. I hear loud noises like cars going past but everything else is
quiet unless kids are playing out....
From our house you can see the clock towers. If you take your dog for
a walk up the Queen's Parlour you can see for miles and you can
imagine how spectacular it is when its misty. If you walk outside the
cake shop there is the freshly baked bread smell in the air...
The first thing when waking up on a school morning , is the dull light
that pushes its way through the curtains. You can hear the constant
noise of cars on the By-pass, mixed in with the sound of the early
trains on the Severn Valley Railway.

When walking on the By -pass to school you can see the field below
you with the sparkling dew like slimly snail paths. The river runs
quietly underneath you with ducks and swans. In the distance
you can see another bridge busy with lorries and cars. Cars gather
upon the By-pass like a neat line of army ants starting to invade.
Saturday mornings are not much different; when getting off the
Cliff Railway the smell of fresh baked bread hits like a fast punch
directly up your nose. The market stalls are surrounded by busy
people like busy bees. The smell of leather from the leather stalls
is mixed in with fruit and veg and fresh bread.
There are the remains of a castle
which was built in the Medieval
times which was blown up. There's
also a site where the Germans
dropped their bombs which were
left over.
The estate that I live on is called Wellmeadow. It is quite big
and is next to a massive field which everyone calls the
'back field.' Beside the field is the River Severn where people
go fishing and canoeing. At high town on a weekday things are
usually quiet but on the weekends things change completely.
On a Saturday the market is set out early in the morning
and by twelve o' clock the town is bustling with people.Everybody
goes in one direction as if they were running from a fire. ...
Alveley
My house is amongst many about 690 to be precise. In Alveley there
are 5 shops: the VG, the post office, fish and chips and a spare not
forgetting the hardware store. Alveley has a playing field called the rec.
Alveley has a little bit of countryside and it also has a countrypark
with a train station. At the country park there are many ponds and a
lot of wildlife. The country park has a visitors centre where they sell food
and drink. Alveley has many people and a lot of these people have cars;
with all of these cars it looks just like fish in the sea. They`re
everywhere! I can smell fish and chips which makes me taste them. I feel
comfortable in my own birth village, because I know the people who live
there. On the hour every hour you will be able to hear the lovely sound of
the church bells of St. Marys church ringing....
There is a small Primary School where the children play free just
like lions roaring their heads off. Alveley is a quiet place with a peaceful
country park where people go for walks. There are many shops which sell
various things and a fish and chip shop too. The church is where people
go to listen to services. The bells ring loud just like the striking of a
drum. There are a number of pubs around the village where people
gather and have a drink, even have a game of cards. Alveley contains
many houses but not many bungalows. People go and have a good
game of tennis at the courts running up and down just like a dog chasing
a ball. In the summer it smells of grass when it has been mowed and the
scent of the flowers. In the winter when it is foggy you can smell the
smoke coming from chimleys. I feel happy in Alveley because I've
always lived here. Alveley is a tidy village where there is hardly any
trouble and not a lot of noise.
Highley
Highley is split into two different areas. The one nearest to Brigdnorth is
called top end. The one on the opposite side is called Village. There are
supposed to be five pubs but one was sold and now it's being done up
again. There are a lot of horses around and a lot of horse droppings around...
It is a safe loving environment with lots of country side and old
features, such as the outdoor swimming pool with fields. There is also
the old mine wheel down the lovely new country park. There are walks
through the country side of meadows and there is also a river with a
train station running in view....
Highley is a peaceful village. There is a Chinese Takeaway and two
chip shops. There is a railway and a country park. The river Severn
runs through Highley. When you go for walks down the country park you
can see and smell all the flowers and trees. I like Highley because
there is a field, a green, and a park to play on...
As you carry on through Highley, you will see a lot of houses, some of
which are terraces which look a giant's long arms reaching out to grab
some one...
