Öland is a long and narrow island in the Baltic Sea. To get to Öland, you have to drive on a 6 km long bridge. This is the longest bridge in Europe. Öland is famous for its nice nature. You can find a lot of rare birds and flowers. This island is also well-known for its birdwatching. When we were on Öland, we visited two places, named Gråborg and Beijershamn. Gråborg is a very old castle. It was built about 1500 years ago, and now it is a ruin. It is round and was built of big, round stones. In Beijershamn, we saw a lot of cows and a mink, and we climbed a birdwatching-tower. The cows in Beijershamn are brown, white and black. They have long hair, and they seem to be lazy. The single bull was very powerful. We also saw a mink. The mink is a small and fast running animal. It is brown, slim and curious. Öland is also known for "the Alvaret". That is a big, open area without any trees. Instead there are millions of flowers in the springtime. Öland is a popular island in the summer, because there are many nice beaches. At the southest and northest points, there are high lighthouses. You are all very welcome to come here! Greetings to everyone everywhere! Class 5B (Lars Lindell, teacher)
