PreWriting
We would like to use the description of our river town in the project.
We will be taking a field trip on board the Mississippi Queen when it
comes to Wheeling on its way to Pittsburgh on the 18th of this month.
I have been busy with this 8th grade class arranging with the river
boat lines this trip.

We would like to tell you that we,the 8th grade, just took a field
trip to the legendary Mississippi Queen. In case you have never heard of
this marvelous ship, I will tell you a few things about it. This "floating
hotel",has 40 rooms which range anywhere from $300 dollars to $1000 dollars
a night. This ship has the largest calliope in the world, which consists of
about 40 different notes. This is an original calliope, which means it is
completely operated by steam. On the inside of this ship there are 2 or 3
lounges, 2 dinning halls, a bar, a gym,and waiting area for when you first
come in. There is also a sun deck, and a deck going around each floor of the
ship. There are four floors on this luxurious ship and a kitchen that is
below the first floor. They even have dress codes for dinner, such as, you
must wear a coat and tie(for a man)and woman must wear a nice dress or slacks.
Most of the people on this ship have lots of money(you probably realized
that by how much the rooms cost). The trip was very educational and will help
us a great deal with our writing project.
