PreWriting
The Maple Ridge School 5th grade has chosen the school nature area to
describe. The school nature area is 30 acres located next to the school. It
contains a pond that is full of wildlife including ducks,cranes,herons and
geese. There are also all kinds of frogs,turtles and snakes.
There is a nature trail through the woods. Bridges have been constructed
over wetlands. The woods are full of wildlife of all kinds
Monday the class went out to the nature area to a place that is setup for
class use with benches. They wrote descriptive sentences of what they saw,
smelled, experienced and the sounds. It was a beautiful day here in Northern
Michigan. The temp. was 72F and the sky was very blue. The fall colors are
at there peak with bright reds, yellows and oranges.
