Introduction
I chose to write about The Harley School, because my wonderful,
fantastic computer teacher asked me to write to you about our school and
you may want to know a little bit about it. Harley has 442 students in
nursery to twelfth. It is in a neighborhood near the city of Rochester.
It has small classes. It's in the public school district called Brighton,
but Harley is a private school. Harley was awarded the Blue Ribbon
Award, a very big national award.

Also, Rochester has cold winters with lots of snow which makes us
appreciate spring and summer all the more. It is located more or
less on Lake Ontario at the outlet of the Genesee River and the
intersection of the Erie Canal. All around this area is evidence of
the rich histories of the Iroquois Nation, the Underground Railroad,
and the Suffrage Movement. We were once the "Flour City" for our
many flour mills and are now the "Flower City" for our many Frederick
Olmstead parks. Rochester has the University of Rochester's
Eastman School of Music and the home offices of Kodak and
Xerox and Bausch and Lomb. We just built a new baseball stadium
for a minor league baseball team: The Redwings, a farm team
of the Baltimore Orioles. And soccer is very, very popular as are
movie theaters and outlet malls.
Harley is a day school. We are a coed school and do not wear
uniforms. Also, at the upper school level, we combine sports
activities and social activities with another private school in the area.
Addendum by the wonderful, fantastic computer teacher.
