Hunt For Famous Explorers Game
Portuguese

We have hunted Country Capitals and Landmarks around the world.
Now, the Maywood Center Moderators challenge you: WHO?? are the people that traveled into unknown places
and discovered
some of the landmarks or founded the cities that became
capitals? Some of these explorers may have blazed the way
for for others that came later and founded the cities or
built the landmarks.
Hunt for Famous Explorers is patterened after Hunt for Country
Capitals and Hunt for World Landmarks so many of you already
know the rules.
Watch for the announcement of Hunt for Famous Explorers
on the Kidproj list around the middle of March. The game will be
played between April 7 and May 30, 1997 with registration beginning April 7.
Hopefully this time frame will accommodate all the
Spring Breaks that may occur during the month of April!!

Pretending we are detectives like in the popular game, Carmen
SanDiego, let's follow the clues to discover who these explorers
are!!

To Play
Choose an explorer anywhere in the world. Students, research facts
concerning the explorer and
compose nine interesting clues and send them along with
your the name of your explorer to the Explorer
Moderators. Three clues
per week
will be posted by the Explorer Moderators to the
Kidproject board
over a three week period. All
registered schools can ask one question per
week
which requires a "yes" or "no" answer to each clue posting
school. At the
end of the three weeks the school which
guessed the most explorers will
be declared the winner!
Follow-Up Activity
Wouldn't it be fun to create a world history timeline with
the explorers that our players have chosen? Then create
a vertical computer generated timeline and email it to the
Kidproj list to share with everyone. It will be interesting
to see how different groups produce these timelines!
They will also
be displayed on these web pages.
