Paula's class in Finland

Our kids have been studying English for one year now. English is VERY different from Finnish, but they have learned some Swedish (more like English).

There are two groups - the Beginners and those who have learned the year before. Their English is quite simple and the group is big....

but somehow they learn something anyway....

We are living in a small village in the Southern part of Finland. The district is called Pohja and the villages here are Fiskars, Billns, Karjaa and Pohjankuru. The school is in Billn's (I hope you can read Scandies) and our school is really very small - about 80 pupils and 4 teachers. We live near the Sea>or a part of it - a fjord (Pohjanpijnlahti). As a matter of fact it is the only fjord in whole Finland. Usually fjords are in Norway - so we are quite proud of it and we try to save it clean. And I must tell you that it's very beautiful here. Just now it's cold and rainy and it will be worse...."
