Dear ERITREA GROUP,
Hello!I am Ricardo.I am 13.
Your letters sound unbelievable!I am learning
so much!
Is it dangerous to go to that place? I
wish I had a professor like you and the courage of your students.BRAVO!!!!!
I have looked at the map and seen that
Eritrea is in Ethiopia.
Bon Voyage.
Love. Take care.
Ricardo.(Argentina).
I am going to answer your questions that you sent us.
> Is it dangerous to go to that place? !
I can start with telling you that we will take as small risks as possible. We have already taken a lot of medications for possible diseases. Eritrea is a safe country except for the north of the country were the line between Sudan and Eritrea is. It is a civil war going on in Sudan.
> I have looked at the map and seen
that Eritrea is in Ethiopia.Would you
>mind telling me why your Eritreans
friends have been to Sweden?
Asha and Soulayman that we met at the
camp moved to Sweden when the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea began. They
have lived here ever since.
Exactly when they came I don't know.Many
Eritreans moved to Sweden and other European countries for example Germany.
> What is their food like? Have they
a typical Eritrean(do they use the
>adjective "Eritrean"?)food?
In Eritrea they have a bread that they call Injera. This bread is served with Alechea wich is a meatstew. The bread is sour and the meatstew is rather hot.
>Mat,why have you chosen Eritrea?
Because we have refugees from Eritrea
living in Alingsas and it seems to be a very interesting country.
>Do they want to experience adventure?
Is it that they want to know about
>other cultures?
We do want to know more about the Eritrean culture and we kind of see the whole journey as an adventure.
By the way,at what stage of your
travel are you at present?
>What are the Ethiopian dances like?
About the Eritrean or Ethiopen dances I know nothing but I know what candy I like. That's simple. I like all candy almost.
Have your thoughts changed after
you started your travel?
I think that the Eritrean people
have history to be proud of but I don't know much about their culture.
Half of the Eritrean population is ortodox christian and the other half
is muslims. If you want to know more about the history you can mail to
us. I would be happy to answer but it may take a while.
My thoughts have changed very much
those last weeks. It realy feels that it's getting closer. I am very curious
about how it will be and I have noticed that so are you.

Thanks for sending me your letter about your trip to Eritrea. Could your fill me in on some questions pertaining to your trip. The first two are geographical.
1. Where is Eritrea? Is it around
the Red Sea? I haven't
been able to locate it on my globe.
2. Where are you located in Sweden?
3. Why did you decide to take on a project
of this magnitude
and what do you expect you will cherish from this project.
I wish everyone the best of luck. The blessings
you will receive from this project will stick with you for the rest of
your life.
Randy Ford
We will try to find answers during the journey and send them with our reports or to the KIDPROJ-list.
