I arrived at P.S.146 this morning! It is a school in Howard Beach, New York. Ms. Carney's 3/4 grade class gave me a welcome to America party this afternoon. They really enjoyed looking at all the interesting things I brought from Norway and Brazil. I have arrived in New York just in time for baseball season. The students are big baseball fans. They love the New York Yankees.

Today we had a very busy morning in 3/4-208. The class is writing reports about New York City. I learned a lot about this city. We also had a math lesson. After lunch, Ms. Carney read us a chapter out of a book called Ramona Quimby, Age 8. I really liked it. We ended our day by looking at all the things I brought from Brazil. The class especially liked the flag, soccer shirt and my clothes from Brazil. It has been too warm in New York for my winter clothes from Norway, so the class has put my sweater and hat away.

Today we had a very busy day. The students were given a reading practice teat in the morning and then had lessons in math and reading. In the afternoon we spent time looking at all the things my friends in Norway sent in the box. The class was very excited to see all the winter sports pictures. It was a very nice day.

Today we had a great day! We took a walk to the park and had a lot of fun. The park is by a beach, and we walked by the water and looked at shell, barnacles and seaweed. After that, we went on the playground. I especially liked going down the slide. When we got back to the classroom Mrs. Smith, the principal, came to welcome me to P.S.146. It was a fun day.

I can not believe that today is my last day at P.S. 146. Today we did a writing activity and then I sat in on reading groups. After that, the class had a math quiz and a spelling test. When they returned from lunch, the class gave me a surprise going away party. We had soda and munchkins, I had a honey glazed of course! I learned a lot about New York City while I was here. The class has made me a book about the city to take with me, so I can share it with other students. Goodbye P.S.146, I am on my way to Merrick, New York!
