This book is about a group of teenagers who go on a camp. They enjoy themselves. But when they come back their world is in tatters. They find their mums and dads gone and their dogs dead. Join them as they go into battle with an enemy, whose identity they don’t know. The book is set in Australia. The plot is well constructed and fast moving; the story is an adventure/ thriller. The language is very descriptive and you can see in your mind pictures of the characters and the action.

The characters seem very real and life like. The situations they find themselves in are very real. The book is written from one girl’s point of view; it is written as an account of events that happen to the group in their effort to fight the unknown enemy. The main purpose of recording everything for the teenagers is so that they, and what they do, won’t be forgotten.

This is a great book and I highly recommend it. There are seven books in this series and the last one is yet to come. I chose the book and have read the others in the series because the plot appealed to me. It is one of the best series of books I have read and was unable to put down. Although there is some sexual references these are not explicit or overdone. I recommend this book to 11 years+.
