Age:  For 8 - 10 years
Book Review:

"Eat it or wear it," says Mr. Hatcher.  This is just one example
of what you might hear on an ordinary day in the Hatcher house.  "Tales
Of A Fourth Nothing" by Judy Blume makes everyday life in the Hatcher
house seem funny.
Judy Blume makes the things that her character, Fudge, does seem
funny.  For example, Fudge has a birthday party.  Several children who
attended the party were strange.  A fat, little boy ate so much that he
got sick.  Another small girl bit everyone at the the party.  Finally,
one child decided to make "tinkle" on the rug.  Boy, was it wet!
Not only does Judy Blume give Fudge strange friends, she makes
him a little strange and funny himself.  An example is when Fudge  tries
to fly.  Fudge believes he is a bird and jumps off of the top of the
monkey bars.  In doing so, he swallows his front teeth.  Now he looks
like "FANG".
One of the funniest things is when Fudge swallows his brother
Peter's turtle, Dribble.  Fudge must go to the hospital while Peter sits
at home waiting for his turtle.  Of course, the turtle is dead.  Peter's
dad gives him a dog.  He figures Fudge can't swallow the dog.
So if you're feeling blue, sad, or gloomy "Tales Of A Fourth
Grade Nothing" may be the book for you.  The way Judy Blume has her
characters react to their unique situations is hilarious.  So, if you
need a good laugh, we SERIOUSLY recommend this book.
