Bennett Elementary School
Bellevue, Washington, USA
May 5-May 7, 1997
Hi all - Benni has now arrived at Bennett Elementary in Bellevue, WA. It was a thrill this morning to unwrap his box and spend the day reading and sharing all the "goodies" there in. What a lucky bear to be so loved by so many thousands of children!!! Benni had lunch with the teachers today so that they could get excited to share him with their classes. He will visit many classes tomorrow and the next day and then will travel overnight to Maryland. In the meantime Benni is enjoying life at Bennett and has many new things to share with his original family when he returns to Iceland.
Bye, Shelley Perkins, teacher of gifted program

Benni arrived at Bennett Elementary School early Monday morning, May 5, 1997. We were all so excited for his visit, and we hope he had a good time while he was with us. He spent most of his time in the Enrichment Center (we call it the EC), but he had a chance to tour the school, meet the principal, visit many classes, have lunch with the teachers and meet other bears who came to school to meet him. He had his picture taken for the local newspaper and then left for Maryland on the 7th of May, 1997.
We gave Benni the following items to take with him:
