What do I write in the mail? SUBSCRIBE KIDFORUM [YOUR-OWN-NAME]
Then you have completed the first part of the SUBSCRIPTION.
Within a few minutes you'll have a return mail from LISTSERV saying:
We are now requiring confirmation of subscription requests to make sure that your email address is
working. To confirm your subscripton, simply reply to the present message and type OK as the text
of your message. Send just the word OK - do not retype the command.

How do I know that this worked?
You'll get this message in return:
Your subscription to the KIDFORUM list (KIDLINK-Discussion of Topics--age 10-15 only) has been accepted.
Your address has been entered on the subscription list as: [your-own-E-mail-address]. Most of the KIDLINK mailing lists accept messages only from subscribers, so if you wish to post a message, please send it from this address.
What if this doesn't work? What then ??
You send a new confirmation mail to: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU

Why all the X's ??
Occasionally the confirmation message does not work. If you receive an error message after sending the "OK", try sending a new message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU (without using the "reply" function - this is very important) and type "OK xxxxxx" as the text of your message. The X's are the reference number found in your mail.

What if I don't send the "OK" message?
Your subscription request will be cancelled automatically if you do not confirm it within two days. After that time, you must start over and resend the command to get a new confirmation code. If you change your mind and decide that you do not want a subscription, simply discard the present message and let the command expire on its own.
What if I want to be removed from the list?
You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF KIDFORUM" command to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU. You can also tell LISTSERV how you want it to confirm the receipt of messages you send to the list.
