The Kidforum List
Welcome to Kidforum!
KIDFORUM is an outlet for works by kids on a series of topics specified in advance to promote exchanges between
classroom groups of students. Four different topics are selected and
scheduled on the KIDFORUM Schedule Page, so that teachers can make plans
for their classes to participate.
Kidforum-Coord team is responsible for the schedule for
2000/2001.
Teachers and students are invited to register in advance for any Kidforum
topic whenever they like.
Like many divisions of Kidlink, Kidforum offers separate lists for student writings
and for planning among teachers and other Kidlink leaders. Our list for kids' work is called Kidforum, and our list for
planning and coordination is called Kidforum-Coord. You can sign up for either or both,
using this link.
Kidforum is a part of the Kidlink Multi-Language Area. Though most
Kidforum messages are written in English, all languages are welcome.
Kidforum is one of may ways in which Kidlink supports state-of-the-art
education on the Internet, as outlined here.

Here are the essentials for participating in Kidforum. You really don't have to do anything else. Please remember that all classes and kids are welcome to contribute to each Kidforum topic as much or as little as they wish.
1. Have your students answer Kidlink's Four Questions, as all Kidlink participants do.
2. Find a topic that interests you on the Kidforum Schedule Page. Kidforum topics are usually available from October through May, at least.
3. While this topic is going on, read the Kidforum messages on your chosen topic, using the World-Wide Web.

to the topic, or in reaction to particular messages from other classes, send
your contributions by means of the World-Wide Web or send them by regular

There are some optional but helpful steps, too:

The Kidforum-Coord List
Often, folks who are new to Kidlink wonder why so many of the lists come in pairs, like Kidforum and Kidforum-Coord. The Coord (Coordination) lists serve as a way for Kidlink leaders to plan the topics and projects that help kids to learn in the most exciting way--by connecting with other kids.
Kidforum-Coord is a part of Kidlink's effort to promote and develop sound educational practices on the Internet. In Kidforum-Coord it is always our goal to help everyone, no matter how experienced or inexperienced, to feel confident in using the Internet as an educational tool.
